We’ve been offered an amazing opportunity to hold a retreat in Meribel, France during the summer for a week, when the daytime temperatures are between 25/28 degrees. The chalet sleeps 12 and we will be practising yoga in the sunshine on a big outdoor deck space, surrounded by incredible beauty in every direction.
We will do 2 classes of yoga a day plus there plenty of time to read a book, take a dip in the hot tub, take in the extraordinary views or get outdoors in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You’ll come back fit, healthy and invigorated.
In summer the mountains turn into a whole different type of natural playground during summer; fresh mountain air, oodles of nature, incredible views and more activities than you can shake a stick at: amazing hiking, mountain-biking, whitewater rafting, golf, canyoning and so much more.
We will have own chef to cook delicious food for us at the chalet and we will also go into town and eat in a couple of the local restaurants.
The cost will be £995 per person sharing a room. Breakfast and dinner are included. Flights, transfers and activities are on top.
Hiking & Via Ferrata
The rugged terrain and breath-taking mountainscape in Meribel means that hiking opportunities are vast. There are a huge variety of trails in the Meribel valley so that there is something for everyone of all ages and abilities. The Vanoise National Park is full of wildlife that you won’t see back at home. Spot a chamois, marmot, ibex or eagle while hiking the Meribel trails. A lovely thing to do is to walk to a mountain refuge where you can have a traditional alpine lunch before heading back home again.
Via Ferrata is a little different to rock climbing… here you’ll be getting help from bridges, ladders and steps whilst wearing helmets and safety equipment. You will be following the trails of marked paths during this mountain climbing experience, showing you Meribel in a whole new light.
Some of the best mountain-biking in the Alps can be found in Meribel during the summer; the area has an extensive network of single track trails, downhill tracks, freeride areas and there is something for everyone, no matter how experienced. The lifts are open until the end of August and have specifically adapted hooks for bikes which allows mountain-bike aficionadas to spend more time riding and less time climbing up killer hills (unless that’s your thang!).
The golf course in Meribel is often described as one of the most beautiful mountain courses in France. Open to non-members and with season tickets available too, the Meribel golf course has a treasure trove of lakes, water cascades, bunkers and those heart stopping views.
The Alps are famous for their white water rapids.
For thrill junkies, white water rafting is an exciting activity that you can do with a group. With a trained instructor, you’ll be going down the River Isere, which is sure to get the blood pumping! This thrilling activity is definitely something to attempt if you’re a fan of water sports.
Rather than in a group, this time it will just be you and a partner, which makes a much more adrenaline fuelled adventure. Riding the rapids down the river you’ll be with a qualified instructor, creating a truly remarkable experience.
Loved rafting but want to try an even greater thrill? Armed with just a hydrospeed board and a pair of fins you’ll be experiencing everything the river could possibly throw at you.
Abseiling down waterfalls, riding the rapids and jumping into pools,. All you need to know is how to swim!
