Ashley Van Dyk – Ashtanga, Pilates and Gait therapist

After working in the Pilates spectrum for the last 10 years, Ashley completed her Yoga primary series in Mysore, India in 2016. Her passion for functional movement led her into the world of Gait Therapy which has opened a fresh and different perspective into body alignment.

What is GAIT Therapy:

A form of movement therapy that realigns your body based on GAIT/walking patterns. GAIT is based on the idea that your body innately knows how to move correctly and there is a blueprint but due to modern lifestyle our bodies have been forced to adapt to long periods of sitting at a desk, stress and lack of movement.

Constantly challenged by incorrect movement, this often leads the body into discomfort, pain and injury. Incorrect alignment can hinder any peak performance, therefore never functioning at your optimum.

Myles is an a highly experienced acupuncturist, with an ability to get immediate results in pain relief, injury repair and increases in range of movement.

Acupuncture can be really helpful for psychological/emotional issues and very often, these correlate with physical symptoms such as stress or anger causing neck pain, or the feeling of worry that appears in the stomach. Emotional issues can also often manifest themselves in forms of dependency (food,drink,drugs, etc) or phobias. Acupuncture uses a systematic, whole body approach to achieving wellness, helping unify mind and body. In Chinese medicine, body is mind, and mind is body.

He uses a fusion of Chinese, Japanese & Taiwanese techniques to bring about the fastest relief possible. In addition he is a Master practitioner in Tui na chinese medical massage.

Qigong – Alessandro Ferullo

Alessandro Ferullo has been studying with Master Zhixing Wang, the founder of the Hua Gong style of Qigong for more than 25 years. He has been teaching classes in London, Hove and Canterbury for over 10 years. He also takes an interest in Buddhist philosophy and practice and has visited China several times as part of his continued interest in Eastern wisdom energy work and philosophy.

Hua Gong is an artistic style of Qigong focusing on cultivating health and helping to realizing our full potential . Hua means transformation, integration and liberation. It is simple to learn and is mainly practiced through simple energetic body movements and mindfulness/meditation.

Alessandro teaches Qigong classes every week in Studio 2 and is also available for individual sessions.
